Kaylee — In Her Element | NYC Editorial Photography & Cinematic Film | ShutterDownEasy Issue 16
For Issue 16 of ShutterDownEasy, we headed into New York City for an intimate editorial photoshoot featuring model Kaylee, captured at ShowUpAndShootStudios.
With its rich wood tones, vintage furnishings, deep green accents, and warm atmosphere, the studio provided the perfect setting for a photography session focused on natural beauty, quiet confidence, and timeless editorial style.
The result is In Her Element — a collection of photographs and cinematic footage that captures Kaylee in a relaxed, effortlessly captivating environment.
But this issue has something extra.
Alongside our main editorial, we're introducing NOIR, an exclusive black-and-white bonus feature revealing a completely different visual side of Kaylee.
In Her Element — A Warm, Intimate NYC Editorial
There's something special about photographing a model in a space that already has its own personality.
For this session, we embraced the studio's darker wood paneling, lush greenery, and vintage-inspired furniture to create a warm, sophisticated atmosphere.
Kaylee's cream-colored crochet outfit complemented the room's earthy tones beautifully, creating a natural contrast against the deep greens and rich textures.
Rather than relying on elaborate sets or dramatic styling, we focused on the details that make editorial photography compelling: expression, movement, composition, and the connection between the model and the camera.
The result is a photo series that feels both intimate and timeless.
The complete In Her Element feature includes:
25+ exclusive editorial photographs
A cinematic fashion film featuring Kaylee
Behind-the-scenes video from our NYC studio session
NOIR — A Bonus Black & White Editorial
For our second look, we decided to take things in a completely different direction.
Introducing NOIR, a bonus black-and-white photography feature included with Issue 16.
By removing color and simplifying the setting, we created an editorial that focuses on shape, contrast, expression, and mood.
Where In Her Element embraces warmth and rich textures, NOIR explores a more minimal, dramatic aesthetic.
The two collections offer distinct interpretations of the same model, showing how a change in styling, lighting, and photographic approach can completely transform the feeling of an image.
The NOIR bonus feature includes:
An exclusive black-and-white photo collection
A separate cinematic video
Additional behind-the-scenes footage
Two different looks. Two different cinematic experiences. One complete ShutterDownEasy issue.
Behind the Shoot at ShowUpAndShootStudios in NYC
One of the highlights of this production was working inside ShowUpAndShootStudios in New York City.
The studio's distinctive interiors gave us the flexibility to create two visually different editorial concepts during the same photography session.
For In Her Element, we incorporated the studio's vintage-inspired furniture, greenery, and warm textures into the compositions.
For NOIR, we shifted toward a cleaner, more minimal setting to let Kaylee's expressions and poses become the focus.
Having access to different shooting environments in one location made it possible to explore multiple creative directions without losing the flow of the session.
It's exactly the kind of creative flexibility we look for when planning a ShutterDownEasy editorial photoshoot.
More Than the Final Photo
ShutterDownEasy is about more than publishing a collection of beautiful photographs.
Each issue takes you inside the creative process, combining professional model photography, cinematic filmmaking, and behind-the-scenes coverage into one editorial experience.
With Issue 16, members can see both the finished images and the moments that went into creating them — from the main In Her Element photo series to the contrasting black-and-white world of NOIR.
It's an opportunity to experience the shoot from more than one perspective.
